35th Anniversary Party

I want to say thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed themselves at the club's 35th anniversary party. I had such a great time setting everything up and taking are of the little details. I would love to say that I worked and slaved and worried myself to death, but it really was easy. I met all kinds of wonderful people as I talked to the caterer and the bakers, and a local florist as well for the balloons. I have to give big thanks to the catering manager Cindy from Front Range BBQ. She helped me with the menu and was always very patient and understanding as the number of RSVPs grew, even at the last moment. The food was cooked to perfection, the sides all had something to offer and the little corn bread muffins smelled wonderful. Although the food took a little time to get set up, I hope all would agree that it was worth waiting for. Jane at Little London Bake shop did an amazing job recreating the stickers that our club President Bob Zimmerman had printed to give away to all who attended. Some of you may not have realized that the chocolate cake was flour free, but it was, I can not eat wheat so I wanted to make sure I could enjoy cake as well. I had to save the last piece for myself because it was disappearing as fast as the other cake, which I was told was amazing as well. I had originally planned on cut flowers for the tables but soon realized that those cute little mums would be great things to give away as door prizes. I hope they will grow and bloom for you, their happy little faces reminding you of the smiles we have shared. I am so happy that so many member were in attendance, we had better than half of the club there. The total was 53 plus one little mascot.
There are wonderful pictures included in the gallery, including a progression of the members throughout the decades, and then a large group photo with all of us. Thanks to the brilliant ideas we had to make the photos work, and the photographers who took them.
It was my honor and pleasure to make this all happen but I can not take all the credit. First I want to thank Bob for helping me to pick the site. I want to thank Paul for making sure there was plenty of adult beverages, presented in such a way that made it fun and incognito. Garrick Slack, our youngest member made sure the cakes made it safely, even though he almost had a catastrophe, gas is a good thing when making deliveries. Thank you Niel for writing the directions and driving out there to get the GPS coordinates. Last but not least my sweet heart, Wayne, for listening to me and my craziness, and for carrying and moving all the stuff that had to be hauled up to the picnic ground and back home again.
I have so enjoyed being part of this great club. I can not tell you how much I appreciate all the help, kind words of advice, friendship and fun has meant to me this part year. As a brand new rider I am such a better rider than I could have ever imagined just a short time ago much thanks to all who have helped me find m confidence and skill.
I am looking forward to the ride to Zokas on October 3 and to Novemberfest on November 7 at Bennies Bar. Both of these great parties are set up by Paul and he needs RSVPs for both as they require a head and he needs $15 for the food from La Casita.
